System assignments have undergone a detailed review and some changes have been made. These changes were designed to create better logic and standard pay rates based on type of payload (passenger or cargo) and the destination distance. Please note:
* NO changes have been made to Passenger Terminal jobs (green jobs)
* NO changes have been made to All-in flights
* The overall number of assignments (and assignments per template) has NOT changed In the past 2 weeks.
* OMI jobs are contractually bound and have NOT been changed.
--- Details ---
[1] Passengers will pay a slightly higher rate per kilo equivalent than cargo. We expect pilots to take better care of humans than crates of frozen food. Gentle banking and landings please.
[2] Distance and payload will impact per-passenger / per-mile pay (or per kg / per nm for cargo) and all passengers/cargo within their payload category now pay the same, plus or minus 10%. There could be anomalies where a smaller group/pallet appears to be paying less pp/pm (or per kg/nm) than a larger group but that will only occur on the 'outer ends' of the formula. I expect it will be rare.
[3] Flight distances have been adjusted based on total payload (cargo or pax). Light loads that do not require large aircraft are shorter in duration than larger cargo and larger groups of passengers. You will not find 1 passenger going 500nm (unless it's a green job). Nor will you find 1000 kilos of cargo going across town.
[4] This change means that some jobs now pay more than the old formula. But on the flip side, a few now pay less. (at least half didn't change at all because they were already inline with the new standards) The average system pay worldwide has seen a minor reduction but for 90% of pilots who carry a mix of PT jobs, system passengers and system cargo, your blended payload will likely earn roughly the same as it always did. And if you only fly green jobs, nothing has changed for you.
[5] Since FSE has no way of requiring specialty aircraft, VIP passengers pay the same as smelly fisherman. If there comes a time where we can specify a helo, corporate jet or cargo-only birds for a specific job, this rule will be revised. In the mean time, a CEO and his 2 VPs are happy to use paratrooper seats of your noisy Herc and the smelly fisherman will gladly sit in the leather seats of your King Air. And, as always, Christmas trees can be stuffed into anything with wings.
The above changes are now active but will take a few days to completely propagate worldwide.
