FBO Supplies will now be available for purchase, instantly, from the "Local Market" at every airport in the FSE Game World. The "Buy Supplies" link will appear at the bottom of every airport page, just as they do now at airports large enough to sell Supplies.

Any supplies ordered through the FBO "Order Supplies" option within the FBO menu system (for later delivery) will still be delivered at the original schedule. The "Order Supplies" menu item will eventually be removed. In the meantime, the "Order Supplies" prices are reduced to the same as the airport prices, although the delivery delay is still factored in.

Additionally, the bulk-order discount (up to a maximum of 25%) will be removed from the Supplies purchases.


Why this change? The cost of operating an FBO has always skewed in favor of FBOs located at larger airports. These FBOs have a higher daily supply consumption rate, somewhat offset by being able to produce more passengers. However, the cost of this higher consumption rate is even further reduced by not having to factor in the delivery costs of those supplies. FBOs at smaller airports have been disadvantaged by this additional cost, making them more expensive to operate -- compared to their revenue potential -- in comparison to FBOs at larger airport. This change removes that factor, lowering the operating cost of FBOs at smaller and more remote airports, and also freeing up small airport FBO managers to focus on revenue flying instead of re-supply flying.
